——Analysis of Core Elements in Manual Scraping for Swiss-Type CNC Lathe Installation

Recently, several clients have shown their keen curiosity about the manual scraping  process which the assembly workers were fully focused on during their visits to our factory. Why can this seemingly plain manual procedure  be an essential process in the installation of Swiss-type CNC lathes? From the clients’ perspective, we now interpret the core elements of manual scraping in a clear and easy-to-understand way to address all the questions and concerns. The insight into our commitment to product precisionhidden behind our maestro-level craftsmanship that focuses on microns and millimeterscan be directly gained from this. This seemingly plain manual scraping yet  directly determines the operational precision and service life of Swiss-type lathes. So in the daily routine of assembly workshop, workers shall follow the rules of standardized scraping procedure and secure that every products fits the rigorous precision standards in alignment with multiple essential metrics, to live up our clients’ trust.

Accurate measurement benchmarks lay the foundation for scraping processes.

The process of scraping the component back and forth with a scraper is what we professionally refer to as "manual scraping". The prerequisite for manual scraping is to set up accurate measurement benchmarks, which is also the first step in the fabrication of high-precision equipment. Workers use alignment bars to assemble the motor base and tailstock. First, they must measure how parallel these parts are to the guide railthis data guides the scraping process and affects how well the parts fit. Even a small deviation could hurt the equipments performance later.

At the very same time, by measuring height uniformity between the motor base and tailstock using alignment bars, workers are able to control the tolerance at a range of 0.002mm rigorously. This ultra-precise requirement for equal height constitutes a critical prerequisite for ensuring the subsequent stable operation of the Swiss-type lathe.

Strictly Control the Contact Accuracy to Ensure the Fitting Performance.

The core objective of manual scraping  is to improve the fitting quality of the components' contact surfaces, which is also the most critical function of scraping. The assembly department has clearly specified that the scraping measurement accuracy for motor bases and tailstocks must reach 10–14 contact points per square foot. Customers may wonder about the significance of this parameter, so we will provide a brief explanation below.

This parameter serves as the core indicator for measuring scraping quality. Sufficient and evenly distributed contact points can effectively disperse the pressure generated during equipment operation and prevent localized wear. It can enhance the rigid connection between components and reduce vibration and displacement during operation.

Multi-Dimensional Verification and Adjustment for Dynamic Accuracy

Some may think that scraping is merely a simple process of "touching up and adjusting", but this is not the case. Far from being a single procedure, scraping is a closed-loop process that complements multi-dimensional verification and adjustment. Every step of the operation follows strict standards, all for the sake of achieving the required precision in the end.

After completing the basic scraping, the assembly personnel shall measure the equal height at three points, and rotate and match-scrape the motor base and tailstock at three angles: 0°, 90° and 180° respectively. Multi-angle verification ensures consistent fitting accuracy of the components in all directions.

2.After assembling and connecting the lead screw and adjusting its runout (to be controlled within 0.01 mm), it is also necessary to measure the parallelism between the lead screw and the guide rail. Translation and adjustment shall also be carried out at the angles of 0°, 90° and 180° to ensure that the running track of the lead screw is perfectly parallel to the guide rail, thus guaranteeing the feed accuracy of the Swiss-type lathe.

3.We believe that through the above explanation, all customers have come to understand that this seemingly traditional manual scraping process is a reflection of our commitment to precision, and also the core guarantee for the high quality of every Swiss-type lathe. It has no complicated gimmicks, yet it deeply integrates precision measurement with manual craftsmanship, embodying our artisan spirit of striving for perfection down to the smallest detail. Going forward, the Assembly Department will continue to uphold this original aspiration, execute every scraping process with rigorous operations and stringent standards, and provide all customers with more reliable and accurate Swiss-type lathe equipment.
